Our Research Team
Pamela Wenzel, Ph.D.
Pamela Wenzel is Associate Professor of Integrative Biology & Pharmacology and Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, McGovern Medical School. She also serves as Director of the Immunology Graduate Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Miguel Diaz, B.s.
Miguel Diaz is a high-level research technician with 20+ years of experience. He is motivated to constantly pursue experimental consistency and attention to detail in achieving credible and reproducible data. He manages the laboratory and provides support to trainees.
Amina Mohammadalipour, ph.D.
Amina is applying her training as a biophysicist to better understand how mechanical features of cancer cells influence their ability to metastasize and contribute to cancer progression. She is particularly interested in the effects of cell stiffness and deformability on mechanosensitivity of the cell to external forces in the microenvironment.
Sandeep Dumbali, Ph.D.
Sandeep is a mechanical engineer with expertise in mechanobiology. He is focused on the cellular machinery that senses force and transmits this information into a message that hematopoietic cells use to manage metabolic demands and make fate decisions.
Paulina Horton, B.S.
Paulina Horton is a graduate student in the Immunology Program pursuing research to address how early precursors of the hematopoietic stem cell generate energy and metabolize fuels to ensure self-renewal and multipotency.
